This book provides an overview of modeling methods for a photovoltaic array working in uniform and in mismatched conditions. It then discusses the ways in which the best MPPT performances can be achieved and the design of the parameters affecting the algorithm performances. Then, the author examines the maximization of the energy harvested in mismatched conditions, in terms of both power architecture and control algorithms. Last but not least, he details the design of the dc/dc converter, which usually performs the MPPT function, with special emphasis on its energy efficiency.
