This book is written based on working stress method and as per Indian Standards. There are very few books available on design of connections. The students and practicing engineers need a simple ready reference book exclusively on connection design and hence this book.
This book gives a number of design examples of various types of connections. Apart from design examples; this book also gives,
(1) Types of connections and its behaviour.
(2) Design tips, sketches and ready to use tables.
This book contains two chapters. Chapter 1.0 deals with bolted connections. This covers bolt specifications, class and strength, simple connections, moment connections, splices for tension members,column splices and beam splices. Chapter 2.0 deals with welded connections. This gives types of welds and their symbols. Fillet weld and butt welds are covered.
In both these Chapters, a number of worked examples are given for the engineer to follow easily not only for learning but also to follow in design office.
