The Plastic Injection Molding book series provides basic information, concepts, and ideas to both students and practitioners in the area of thermoplastics. The goal is to have a series of books that will either provide new informaton to the user or refresh old knowledge. The first two books are Volume I...manufacturing process fundamentals and Volume II.....material selection and product design fundamentals.
This book, Volume III....mold design and construction fundamentals, explains the role of the mold in the injection mold materials, and some of the more popular mold designs are also discussed. The methods and equipment used for making these molds are explained, alongwith the important design criteria required for both product and mold design.
