This text provides information on thermal design and performance aspects on steam generators and HRSGs, discusses recent developments in boiler technology, novel design ideas, recent trends in their design, and also discusses how plants can save operating costs arising out of lower efficiency and or higher gas pressure drop through the boiler. It presents a few examples of problems with steam generators faced by plant engineers and HRSGs are also presented along with solutions in addition to numerous examples.
